Foreigners with a driving license issued by the competent administrative authority in Ukraine have an extended period of using this document on the territory of Poland. They do not have to exchange this document for a Polish driving license if their stay in Poland exceeds 6 months. The cut-off date for the mentioned extension is December 31, 2023. Expired Ukrainian driving license documents are also valid until then.
You can exchange a driving license not only in Ukraine, but this possibility is provided in European Union countries. In Poland, exchanging a Ukrainian driving license is possible in Warsaw, Wrocław, Kraków and Gdańsk, at the offices of the Passport Service at the following addresses:
Necessary documents to exchange a driving license are:
Passport of a citizen of Ukraine with a mandatory place of registration;
Passport of a Ukrainian citizen for travel abroad;
Certificate (original or copy) on assigning the registration number of the taxpayer's account card (if it is not on the ID card, stamp in the passport or in the databases of the Ministry of Interior and Administration);
Document confirming the change of surname and name (in case of change of personal data);
Current driving license.
The cost of replacing a driving license consists of two fees. The first one concerns directly the cost of replacing the document and amounts to UAH 254 and the cost of the corporate service PLN 455.
